Kereru (our native New Zealand wood pigeon) is the third in my collection of bird cushions,
the cards that are available at The Image Vault have a slightly different colouring, I just thought blue would suit more interiors than purple!

Cushions for a pop up shop!

A few years ago I created a small range of square cushions. I opened a day only pop up shop in our little village and displayed them along with other creations, well to my delight they where a hit, I sold out and took orders.
Since then people have asked me from time to time if I am going to do it again, after a little thought I have decided yes!
I have made a start and here are my first set of 3, my plan is to have at least 20 different designs!
I will make them available online too, perhaps also as covers only, this will eliminate the need to ship a bulky cushion,
with that I wish you a lovely weekend, oh yes, I'll have the dolls ready next week!

Sew your own little lady

I couldn't wait to show you the first of 3 little ladies!
I will have them ready to order tomorrow!

New wall decals!

It felt like it was my birthday this morning!
3 parcels all for me and none of them bills!
They are all first sample runs of my new products, it's so exciting when expectation becomes reality!
These wall decals are even better than I expected!
You can buy them in my shop  for US $18 + shipping
They are made of Eco-friendly, PVC-free polyester fabric.
The decal comes as a 7.5x15 inch/19x38 cm sheet
The houses are easy to cut out, peel, reposition, stick and remove.
They cover an area of about 11x19 inches/28x 48 cms.
The fab thing is you can make your little houses anyway you wish!
I had such fun making mine, it was sooo easy!
watch this space for more!

paper lamp shade mark 2

Sometimes I have to conceed that appearance isn't everything.
whilest the lamp I made last week may have looked stylish it had one cruciall draw back, my kids where having problems seeing their dinner! it simply spread too little light. I have therefore recreated it with a few important alterations, it's slightly wider, it's made of heavy paper not card board and it is predominantly white.
Ah success, now they no longer have the excuse that they can't see their vegies!

Mr Lion cushion

I really don't know why, but I suddenly had the urge to make a lion shaped cushion/pillow,
Along the way my creativity got away on me, his mane is rather abstract, oh well,
he at least he looks well dressed!

Cardboard Lamp Shade

One of my treasured times of the week is Saturday and Sunday morning enjoying a freshly brewed coffee in bed with my ipad catching up on my favourite blogs.
One of these is called "the design files" it's a lovely lifestyle blog showcasing all that is lovely in Australian design. I was browsing in the craft section and happened upon a brilliant DIY lampshade by a clever lady called Tamara Maynes
She has designed a lamp made entierly out of cardboard.
I have been wanting to replace the horrid white one in our living room for ages so I took her idea, reshaped it slightly to make my own version.
My poor husband Paul, he hinted that it would look nice in one colour, well I did just that till I finished it, stood back and thought, hmm, a bit of colour in the inside would look good, I guess we both got our wish in the end!

DIY fabric bunting

All it takes is for one lovely person to make a suggestion and voom, I'm off!
It's a beautiful day outside, before I walk to the viallage to post an Etsy order, I thought you might like to see the result of today's cutting,
These are the paper cuts,  when I receive the first batch of printed fabric you will be able to order them as fabric panels then you'll be able to stitch them or simply cut them out and attach to a pretty ribbon, which I will include (I'll have a hunt for it this weekend), either way they are sure to add a splash of joyful colour!

design your own little houses wall decals.

I can't wait to receive my first set of decals that I have created for you!
The large sheet is 38 cm/15 inches across by 75 cm/30 inches high,  the small sheet is 19 cm/7.5 inches across by 38 cm/15 inches high. It features elements of my little houses collection.
by simply cutting out sections, you'll be able to stick and assemble your own little town, I can imagine a set of houses all in a row along the wall or one giant tall skyscraper! there will be endless combinations! the best thing is, you can remove and reassemble them whenever you wish.

DIY little houses pillows

I have had quite a few people asking about cushions lately, I must admit, I am a bit of a cushion collecter, it's amazing what a difference a few bright and cheery pillows can make to a boring old couch or bed, I have had this niffty idea of a cute little row of houses, I have broken with the norm and made them taller than wider, I just have a few tweeks to make and I will be able to offer them as super easy to sew kits,
any further suggestions while I'm on a roll?!
thanks "stonefruit season" for your question about the backs of the cushions, I would like to send 2 panels of the same house (in the design of your choice), you will be able to use these to make 1 cushion or you could use your own fabric of choice for the backs and therefore have 2!

A lovely lady suggested I make fabric bunting/flags, what a great idea, thanks! watch this space!
